The Chamber of Digital Commerce and 15th Street-based incubator 1776 announced on Tuesday that the two have partnered to launch the “DC Blockchain Innovation Center,” the city’s first blockchain incubator.
According to a press release, the Center will be focused on “helping regulators and government agencies, including state, federal and international, understand the potential benefits of blockchain technology and public sector use cases, and to provide a forum for the public and private sectors to collaborate.”
The incubator will be physically based at 1776. “FinTech is a challenging space for governments and their constituents,” Evan Burfield, cofounder of 1776, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome the DC Blockchain Center and its community of innovators to 1776.”
