Meta is one of the world’s largest social networks, part of the big tech firms most associated with Silicon Valley. Previously named Facebook, the company rebranded to Meta in 2021 in an effort to refocus product development and business on ventures in the virtual reality and the metaverse. It is a powerhouse in advertising technology. The company hires many developers, designers and other tech workers from US cities. In spring 2021, the company won a landmark antitrust case brought about by the US government. Meta’s tech stack is a combination of coding frameworks and languages including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP and ReactJS.
