Cesium

Cesium is a platform for 3D geospatial data that enables developers and data providers to build dynamic 3D geospatial applications more easily. We’re a small and growing team that is passionate about pushing our limits, working together to solve hard problems, and learning every day. We believe that understanding the prolific data being collected today and connecting it to the world geographically will unlock new and important insights—and therefore it needs to be as accessible as possible. Our roots are in open source, and we’re actively developing CesiumJS and contributing to other open source projects. We’re building something entirely new and are excited for that challenge.

Cesium has been in development for eight years and is production tested with companies like Uber, Red Bull and Mozilla, government agencies like the NGA, Navy and the Airforce, and high-traffic events like NORAD’s annual Santa Tracker.

In summer 2019, we spun out from our parent company to become independent, took on Series A investment and moved our office to Center City. We’ve been growing fast ever since.
