As of Friday June 1, Wilmington residents no longer earn points from Recyclebank when their curbside recycling is picked up. It was the last tie residents had to the incentive program the city dropped last year. If you live in the Wilmington, your recycling service switched hands to the city’s Sanitation Division a while ago — if you didn’t notice, that’s because they aimed for a seamless transition.
Recyclebank offered some pretty sweet incentives for residents to recycle when the city adopted it in 2006, including free movie tickets to Theatre N and gift cards. They still have the points-for-rewards system, but they’re more along the lines of discounts rather than totally free stuff.
Still, if you haven’t kept up with your Recyclebank account, you could have quite a few points that will soon disappear — might as well use them while you can.
Here are a few things you can snag:
- $5 off $40 or more at The Fresh Grocer (50 pts)
- $5 off $50 at Target.com (50 pts)
