Maryland Delegate Jill Carter introduced a reform bill last week that would overhaul the state’s current Public Information Act.
FOX45 reports:
The bill would create a compliance board similar to the body that adjudicates disputes over the state’s Open Meetings Act. It would have the power to overrule state agencies or local governments when they deny access to information or charge unreasonable fees.
A Democrat, Carter represents District 41 in northwest Baltimore city.
