The app is called Primary Colors, and it compares an elected official’s voting record and stances on issues to the makeup of that official’s district (Republican versus Democrat). It’s meant to show Democrats that challengers could potentially take on — without losing “a liberal hero,” as the site puts it. Primary Colors comes from Philly-based journalist Jon Geeting (see his work at ThisOldCity and Keystone Politics), Brooklyn-based organizer Ryan O’Donnell and Brooklyn-based designer Dave Garwacke.
