A team of Penn researchers are using the HIV virus to cure cancer.
The efforts of Penn Medicine’s Dr. Carl June and his team have been described as a “breakthrough treatment” for leukemia in the New York Times. June’s work is backed in part by a $3 million grant from Richard Vague, the investor who founded early stage investment firm Gabriel Investments and is a large supporter of Fringe Festival and other cultural efforts in the city.
