Local businesses have raised $500,000 through Lucky Ant, a hyperlocal crowdfunding platform founded by a pair of Penn grads in 2011. Twelve of those businesses have been in the Philly area, including the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym and student-run social justice blogging site CauseHub.
The company, headquartered in New York City, launched its latest Philly project this month: a campaign to bring basketball court Rucker Park to Point Breeze’s Ralph Brooks Park. The campaign has already raised $241,720 of its $275,000 goal.
Lucky Ant was founded by Jonathan Moyal and Nate Echeverria.
