Mayoral candidate Jim Kenney is helping out with Code for Philly’s sustainability hackathon

Kenney will speak at Apps for Philly Sustainability on Friday, Oct. 16.

Jim Kenney, civic hacker?
Continuing his tour of the tech scene, the mayoral candidate will talk sustainability with civic tech crew Code for Philly as part of Apps for Philly Sustainability on Friday, Oct. 16 from 6-9 p.m. at WHYY (150 N. 6th St.).
Apps for Philly Sustainability, Code for Philly’s last big event of the year, will start with an all-day unconference on Oct. 16, where anyone can speak about sustainability issues. The day will end with a brainstorming session for the hackathon, which Kenney will attend, then comes the hackathon itself, which aims to bring together technologists and non-technical people to work on tech solutions to sustainability issues.
The brainstorming session is free but you have to register for the unconference and the hackathon.
Register ($10-$35)

The event is part of Young Involved Philadelphia’s State of Young Philly event series.
