That’s one of the features included in Intuitive Voting, a mobile model for a better election process designed by Manayunk-based design firm Intuitive Company. The design won first place at the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society 2014 Voting System Design Competition.
Other features include a mobile “ballot” that offers objective information about each candidate and a mobile election volunteer training guide. The final product was driven by research that Intuitive did, speaking with voters and election volunteers to figure out how the process could be better, said Rob Tannen, Intuitive’s director of design research and strategy.
See the prototypeVoter turnout in Philadelphia for this month’s gubernatorial election was a mere 36 percent. According to Philly Mag, that’s the second lowest turnout for a governor’s race in modern city history.
