Johns Hopkins University will host top executives at a conference on cybersecurity that kicks off on Halloween.
The Senior Executive Cyber Security Conference will be held Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the university’s Homewood campus. Hopkins’ Whiting School of Engineering and Information Security Institute are sponsoring the event, along with cybersecurity services firm North Star Group, which has offices in Baltimore and Washington.
“Digital attacks against businesses are on the rise and are unlikely to go away anytime soon,” Anton Dahbura, executive director of the Information Security Institute, said in a release. “Our goal at this conference is to share some of the best and most current information about how to protect business data from hackers and how to manage the aftermath of a data breach, should one occur.”
The schedule includes discussions of recent major data breaches, industry trends and improving infrastructure. Faculty from Hopkins and other area institutions, as well as industry and public-sector professionals will be among the speakers.
The Hopkins conference starts the day after the two-day CyberMaryland conference wraps up at the Baltimore Convention Center.
