Here’s a map of water main breaks in Baltimore

The Baltimore Department of Public Works released the map amid a scramble to make repairs in freezing weather.

Baltimore infrastructure suffered in the face of a lengthy spell of cold weather in recent weeks.
Around the city, a series of water main breaks are leaving homes temporarily without water service and icy roads.

The Baltimore Department of Public Works has crews working overtime to make repairs. DPW also created an interactive map showing where the water main breaks are located, and what’s being fixed. Created using Esri, the map denotes “confirmed main breaks,” “work in progress” and “where service has been restored.”

It’s not the only major repair effort DPW crews have been undertaking involving pipes breaking. As many outlets have covered, public schools had to close last week after children and staff faced a lack of heat in 60 buildings. As crews from the school district and city worked to make repairs during the weekend, Coppin State University Senior Samierra Jones raised $75,000 through a GoFundMe to fund outerwear for students and space heaters.
