Drexel’s business incubator moving to this new $92M building

The university is keeping mum about the details until the official opening, scheduled for Oct. 3, including the reason for the move and the number of companies the new space will be able to accommodate.

Drexel University‘s Baiada Institute, a business incubator that houses both student and non-student companies, is moving to a new location in early October, said Baiada’s executive director Mark Loschiavo.

Currently located at 3225 Arch Street, the incubator will move to Drexel’s new $92 million LeBow College of Business headquarters at 3200 Market Street. The Institute will be on the third floor of the 12-story, 177,500-square-foot building, according to a Baiada blog post. As shown by the floor plan below, it appears to take up about one-third of the third floor.

The current Baiada Institute usually housed about eight to ten companies, often winners of its fall incubator competition. In summer 2012, the Institute expanded its scope to support more student-run companies.
