While the purpose of the event is to celebrate all things water, the importance of clean water will take center stage. In late April, a Clean Water Task Force recommended that residents be charged a clean water tax, which will be used to clean up the water supply. According to officials, cleaning the water supply could cost up to $100 million per year.
Following the rally, which will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon, advocates will have a chance to meet with legislators from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m.
