Baltimore-based digital health company Insightin Health is growing its work with a Pittsburgh-based managed care organization.
The company this summer announced an expanded, multi-year partnership with Gateway Health Plan where its technology will help in making care decisions with members. Insightin’s platform, called inGAGE, uses natural language processing to collect data on health risk and social factors from multiple sources about members. This is then used to develop a personalized care plan for a member, and offer a single access point to track it along the way, per Insightin. And there are also features that reach out to members and check in on health, as well as recommend a “Next Best Action” for care.
“Historically, vendors manage just one part of that overall process,” said Loretta Adams, VP of clinical services for Gateway, in a statement. “We were pleased to discover that Insightin Health brings it all together seamlessly. We are now reducing manual interventions thus enabling our care managers to reinvest even more time into providing personalized member experiences.”
The expanded partnership sees Insightin’s platform being used by additional teams within Gateway.
It builds on a foundation already established: Along with a headquarters in South Baltimore, Insightin Health has a Pittsburgh satellite office that sprouted up around its work with Gateway, said Marketing Manager Shayna Etches. Now the relationship is growing.
After starting in 2016 from a base in Gaithersburg, Insightin moved to Baltimore last year, planting it alongside a group of growing tech firms and a community that’s eager to put a spotlight on digital health. With the March release of its own COVID detector and against the backdrop of the digital shift brought by the pandemic, the company tripled sales.
“The current pandemic has created a stronger adoption of digital care delivery especially for the senior population who experience chronic conditions,” CEO Enam Noor said.
Insightin has also added to its team of more than 40 people in recent months with new hires in sales and client success.
