WordCamps are locally organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. The first event was WordCamp 2006 in San Francisco. In 2007 the first WordCamp outside San Francisco was held in Beijing. Since then, there have been WordCamps in 65 countries on six continents. The events, which are coordinated by local organizers with the assistance of WordCamp Central, vary in format based on the interests of the communities that present them. In Philadelphia, the first WordCamp was in October 2010.
