At Chalfont, Pa.-based email marketing firm AWeber, there’s been a noticeable uptick in podcast use among clients: the popular format is helping companies and independent producers reach audiences in new, more intimate ways.

But once the player stops, how can creators continue to engage their audience (and possibly, you know, make some moolah along the way)? To answer that and other questions, the company put together a free, one-day virtual summit called “Beyond the Podcast” featuring AWeber specialists and notable podcasters.

John Lee Dumas, Amy Porterfield, Mark Asquith and Philly-based Jessica Kupferman will share tips on building communities through the beloved media format.

“Podcasting is so much more than just the number of downloads you receive each week,” Erik Harbison, chief marketing officer at AWeber, said in a statement. “It’s about about connecting with your audience and building lasting, meaningful relationships with your listeners. That’s ultimately what will drive results and success as a podcaster.”

Last month, there were some 50 live podcast recording sessions as part of the sixth annual Philly Podcast Festival.

“Many of our customers are experimenting with podcasting as a vehicle to build an audience, connect with listeners, and promote their business,” Harbison said. “We saw this event as a great way to curate valuable and practical tips from some of the best podcasters today.”
