Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, a Brooklyn-based venture capital firm led by Charlie O’Donnell, announced yesterday that it had closed a $15.1 million fund, almost doubling the size of its previous fund, closed in 2014.

Wind the clock back to 2009, and you’ll find a younger O’Donnell joining ranks of First Round Capital, breaking in the firm’s first-ever New York office as entrepreneur in residence, alongside none other than investor and former Wharton professor Howard Morgan.
O’Donnell — in another Monday interview with TechCrunch — credits his experience of working alongside investors like Philly’s Josh Kopelman as his way of breaking into the world of venture capital.
“I apprenticed under investors like Fred Wilson and Josh Kopelman,” O’Donnell told TechCrunch. “The community has known me for a long time and in many ways, it watched me grow up. I didn’t just show up out of the blue and start throwing the biggest parties.”
