A handful of Philly investors are behind a $1.35 million raise for New York City-based Bitcoin platform, AlphaPoint. The investors include Benjamin Franklin Technology Partners, DuckDuckGo founder Gabriel Weinberg, Robin Hood Ventures and Invite Media cofounder Scott Becker (a Penn grad now based in NYC).
Here’s the Philly tie: AlphaPoint is run by Vadim Telyatnikov, who cofounded King of Prussia ad inventory company LiftDNA and sold it to OpenX in February 2012. Benjamin Franklin Technology Partners was an investor in LiftDNA.
AlphaPoint helps companies launch digital exchanges and use them to handle more Bitcoin transactions.
