The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology is holding its annual vendor forum on Oct. 3 and it’s hoping smaller tech firms will attend. It’s part of the city’s effort to engage the local tech community.
RSVP by emailing maria.realdine AT phila.gov or by calling (215) 686-8173. The city will accept RSVPs until it runs out of seats and currently, there is still space. Get more details here.
The meeting, for tech companies that contract or want to contract with the city, will discuss Chief Innovation Officer Adel Ebeid‘s vision for city IT and the new technologies the city aims to embrace, said Civic Technology Director Tim Wisniewski. Think APIs, cloud hosting, software as a service.
It’ll also be a good opportunity for small firms to network with bigger firms, Wisniewski said. Often, small and large firms work together on city contracts.
