With Baltimore Innovation Week Presented by Maryland Open for Business right around the corner, the Technical.ly team is gearing up for our very first Hire Bmore: Developing a People Pipeline event (a.k.a. programming you don’t want to miss) at Creative Alliance on Wednesday, October 10.
We will start off the day with a roundtable discussion among the audience, talking about areas of success and lessons around workforce and retaining talent. This will give the crowd (that’s you) the opportunity to talk with your peers about real world challenges. We will provide prompted questions to keep conversations going, and look forward to the main points for your discussions to provide the framework for the conversation with the panel of experts.
Who is on our panel of experts, you ask? To date we have (more to come v. soon):
- Lakeisha Mathews, who is the Director of the Career and Professional Development Center at the University of Baltimore and also the owner of a career coaching business called Right Resumes & Career Coaching, LLC. Lakeisha will be able to provide the perspective of colleges and universities and the importance of internship experience as well as her additional insight from career coaching.
- Dennis Elliott, Vice President of T.Rowe Price. Elliot is currently the General Manager and Head of Product Execution for the Client Experience and Delivery Transformation (CEDT) organization within Individual and Retirement Plan Services (IRPS.) He will be able to provide perspective from one of Baltimore’s largest companies.
Following the panel, we’ll end our day with a fireside chat 🔥 with Jacob Hsu, the CEO of Catalyte. Hsu’s time leading Catalyte has been dedicated to reawakening the American dream while also fulfilling the technology industry’s biggest challenge: finding the right talent to scale digital innovation. Catalyte is taking bold steps toward the future of hiring by using artificial intelligence to identify anyone with the aptitude, regardless of background, to become a software developer. For over 15 years, their predictive analytics platform has hired, upskilled and deployed high-performing teams for Fortune 500 companies, such as Under Armour, Nike, eBay and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
So don’t have FOMO (fear of missing out), and join us. Not to mention, we will have a yummy breakfast for you to start your day.
