Comcast awarded grant money to help the Boys & Girls Clubs with tech training.
The $20,000 Comcast Foundation grant will fund the My.Future digital literacy program locally. The idea is to allow the club’s members to get access to technology, and explore their interests in that realm.
According to info provided by Comcast, the grant money will go toward purchasing equipment including computers, as well as digital cameras and audio-video editing tools. Through the program, they can complete courses in areas like coding, robotics and game design. Then they get digital badges to show their skills.
The program is part of Comcast’s five-year partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs nationally.
