Along with providing some of the expression you might want to convey in fruit and vegetable form (well, some expression), the emoji stickers have the dual purpose of educating people about food waste in the U.S.

The startup, which snatched a deal from the teeth of Robert Herjavec on Shark Tank earlier this year, bases its delivery model on getting some of the 20 percent of food that goes to waste into consumers’ hands. The company has since moved into offices at City Garage and expanded to Philly.
With the emoji, Hungry Harvest is also taking the fight to big tech companies. Through Change.org, the company petitioned Apple, Google and Unicode to make the ugly produce standard. It’s almost to the 500 signatures required for delivery.
