Adam Savage has been part of plenty of stunts, but education is at the heart of what he does.
The Mythbusters host and Hollywood model-maker looked to talk to other teachers when he brought a film crew to Station North as part of a tour for Tested in November. Savage visited Code in the Schools’ recently opened office in the Centre Theater to learn about the computer science education nonprofit’s approach to STEAM.
Savage talked with Executive Director Gretchen LeGrand, as well as staffers Sharae Felder, Derek Fields, Taylor Burch, Charlotte James and Joshua Branham. Savage also spoke with students, including some Arduino talk with Prodigy program scholars Nick Wilkins and Cori Grainger.
Along with digging in on coding education, Savage said he learned for the first time about Baltimore’s video game industry, underlined by Code in the Schools neighbors Sparkypants.
