We checked in with Fastspot in the midst of renovations over the summer. Last week, they were gracious enough to provide a tour of the finished product.
The web design agency, which is fresh off a big redesign of Yale’s website, expanded down a floor at its offices in Mill No. 1. The former 19th century cotton mill buildings in Hampden are located along the Jones Falls. In the overall office, Fastspot sought to keep old features like giant fire doors and large open-air rooms in place, while adding office accroutrements with a reclaimed look.

The recently completed renovation of the floor below takes similar care, while providing new space for team members to stretch out.

One large room has yet to be fully used. It’s envisioned as being a gathering point for Fastspot employees. President Tracey Halvorsen said she could envision hosting meetups there in the future, but the company has yet to work out details.
