A Canton-based startup founded in 2010, Localist drives traffic to universities’ online calendar systems by integrating them with social media, clearing out duplicate event entries and allowing students to read universities’ online calendars on the go thanks to its Tailgate mobile app. Founder and CEO Mykel Nahorniak has built the company up from $300,000 in seed funding, and now top universities, including Johns Hopkins, Cornell and Georgetown, use its social calendar platform.
