Shyp will come to your door, pick up whatever you need to ship, make a box that fits the item precisely and ship it using the most economical option, for $5 (plus the cost of postage). Founded in San Francisco, the company just opened up operations in Sunset Park, serving both Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Industry City’s plan to be the next big hub for tech ventures (the next Navy Yard?) appears to be playing out. Car2Go also just landed there, and MakerBot has been building its 3D printers there for some time.
Shyp has raised a total of $12.1 million in two separate rounds, according to CrunchBase. It secured $10 million in July.
It signed a 10-year lease for 14,000 square feet at Industry City, with three full-time employees and five part-time, so far, according to Industry City reps.
