A personalized way for you to find your next job

So much of what we at Technical.ly have always done — the events and news coverage and services — has helped connect people. A lot of times that has meant introducing employers to great job candidates.

Over the last year, we’ve been tinkering with a new way to do that, a kind of direct matchmaking program that is focused on quality relationships. After several successful placements and a small collection of clients, we want more of you to participate in our pilot.

Our program prioritizes personality and shared values, in addition to hard skills, to make meaningful, long-term relationships between candidates and employers.

We don’t believe in poaching or harassing, so the program is 100 percent opt-in. That means no unsolicited calls or InMails — no, we’re not spamming anyone on LinkedIn. You submit your resume and take a short survey, and then we’ll email you to schedule a 20-minute call if we think we have a position that could be a good fit. During the call, we’ll chat about your background, future goals and career motivations and must-haves, to ensure that we are matching you with the best possible companies and roles.

We make a flat-fee commission on any successful placements, so, as we have done from the beginning, we’ll disclose anyone we’re working with if we write about those companies — we’ve always maintained an editorial wall, meaning our reporters are not involved in work like this. But like any social enterprise, an added benefit of the services we provide — like our long-established events and newer matchmaking services — is that we can further invest in our community work. A successful pilot will continue to support our newsroom and community-engagement events. Plus we’ll actually connect people in our community in ways that help both.

We place candidates with a full range of expertise and experience levels, (technical and non-technical) but right now are particularly looking for developers with experience with Python, Django, AWS and Ruby, Rails, Elixir and cloud operations.

If you have these or any skillsets and are looking for your next opportunity, check us out. We’ll hope to continue to expand our work to connect and challenge the communities we serve.

And if your company is interested in our matchmaking services, reach out to melissa@technical.ly. Thanks!
