The first business incubator on Maryland’s Eastern Shore will be built in Dorchester County.
MDBizNews reports that Innovation Crossroads will become the “anchor” tenant of Regional Technology Park now being built in Cambridge, Md.
The new business incubator, which will join 27 other business incubators presently in Maryland, will cost $1.2 million, and that money is coming from the state’s Department of Business and Economic Development. Governor Martin O’Malley and the state Board of Public Works approved the funding by unanimous vote during a meeting March 20.
Construction of Innovation Crossroads, which was originally proposed in 2007, was postponed following the recession of 2008.
