If you’re focused on building a community of Baltimore civic mindedness, even your friendly neighborhood technology news site can’t ignore this level of sports excitement.
After 17 years, Ray Lewis is retiring from the NFL in the fashion Baltimore Ravens fans had hoped: having the opportunity to win one more Super Bowl ring.
Admittedly, as Deadspin’s Tom Ley writes, Lewis can be something of a conundrum for Ravens fans looking to reconcile his legacy as a perennial Pro Bowl player with a murder trial in which he was acquitted. (Baltimore Sun columnist Dan Rodricks  has criticized what he describes as a thin legal cloud around the star by saying “the murder case against Lewis was one of the worst I’ve ever seen.”)
But as Ravens fans stormed the streets of Federal Hill to revel in the Ravens 28-13 victory over New England, there was only one question that remained unanswered: remember when Ray Lewis flew a raven that used laser vision to blow up Saturn?
Oh, and we’re going to the Super Bowl. It’s like a fantasy. Only it’s real.
