Mid-Level Business Analyst

Brooksource is seeking a fully remote Mid to Senior Level Business Analyst to join a leading retail client in support of modernizing their coupon management systems. This role will play a critical part in retiring the legacy coupon management system (CMS) and transferring functionality to the pricing team to streamline discount and promotional operations. This project involves ensuring a smooth transition of systems, data, and processes while collaborating across technology and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with the project manager, technology teams, and business stakeholders to retire the legacy coupon management system.
* Analyze business needs and ensure that all requirements are effectively translated to the new pricing team systems.
* Map existing coupon and promo-related workflows to the new system, ensuring continuity and functionality for business users.
* Support the project team in identifying and mitigating user impact during the transition process.
* Gather and analyze business requirements, evaluate impacted areas/systems/processes, and recommend alternative solutions.
* Develop detailed system requirements and assist in functional design for the transfer of coupon management to pricing systems.
* Take ownership of user stories, bringing them to a "ready" state, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
* Create visibility into backlogs and manage tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines.
* Drive discussions around improvements and enhancements to ensure user and business needs are met.
* Maintain clear and effective communication with high-visibility stakeholders.

Qualifications:
* *Technical Business Analyst* with 4+ years of experience in backend systems and application migrations.
* Hands-on experience with *Java* and *Spring Boot*.
* Familiarity with *discounts, promotions, and pricing systems* is a strong plus.
* Strong experience in documenting requirements and gathering technical and business insights.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
* Experience visualizing and managing release plans, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal user impact.

Bonus Skills:
* Knowledge of *Payments* or *POS systems*.
* Experience with *PCI compliance* and security practices.
* Familiarity with systems retiring processes or application migrations.
