Local healthtech gains national traction

Phrase Health recently received a $2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to expand its platform, which makes digital systems for healthcare facility management.

The platform gives providers insights on value-based care goals, which are programs that financially incentivize providers to focus on quality of patient care rather than volume.

The data behind Philly’s income inequalities

Per capita income (PCI) by zip code is a more accurate measurement of Philadelphia’s growth than gross regional product, job growth and capital investment, according to researchers from the Community College of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania.

By measuring PCI, the total pretax annual income of all individuals 15 and older divided by the area’s population, local government can better understand economic development in the city and work on initiatives.
