Businesses along the Delaware-Maryland border will soon have access to insanely fast broadband

PEG Bandwidth acquired W.L. Gore & Associates. Here's why that matters.

On Tuesday, Dallas-based internet service provider PEG Bandwidth announced its acquisition of Newark-based network W.L. Gore & Associates.
So why is this a big deal?
According to the News Journal, W.L. Gore’s network is capable of providing internet speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second, “about 10,000 times faster than Delaware’s average statewide peak connectivity speed.”
That’s a lot of times.
W.L. Gore said it plans on allowing businesses and schools (with interested organizations estimated to be around 80) along the Delaware-Maryland border to buy into the network in an effort to stimulate the local economy.
