The Nutter administration’s commitment to the local technology sector was on display at the annual mayoral luncheon for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce this week.
At the event, held at the Marriott in Center City, Mayor Michael Nutter listed his administration’s business initiatives from the past year, including the $3.5M StartupPHL program, the city’s efforts to bring tech firms like Bentley Systems and Fiberlink into the city and even a glancing reference to a recent Silicon Valley visit.
“I’m prepared to take Philadelphia’s case anywhere, anytime,” he said, “as I did on a recent visit to venture capital firms in San Francisco.”
That’s not unlike the call he made last year, saying that he was focused on making Philadelphia an international destination.
