Former Philly startup LaunchRock has announced a round of funding to the tune of $800,000 from a myriad of investors, TechCrunch reports. The company has also officially opened to the public, allowing anyone to sign-up for the service.
That retro Facebook game being published by Entertainment Games, Inc. , which we’ve been covering for the past few months, and which is now publicly being called Retro World, launched on Facebook yesterday. We found the design, well, retro, and the gameplay entertaining. Retro World, which it turns out will be an ongoing series of different game plots — which utilizes rights for celebrities Elvis Presley, Dick Clark and Marilyn Monroe and others — was also recently covered in Reuters, the most revealing article to date. If the company can continue to market on that level, it could have a hit on its hands.

SevOne, a network performance management software company, announced this week that it’s expanding to Latin America, Australasia and Asia to meet customer demand, company officials tell Technically Philly.
Final Form Games, makers of the popular Jamestown shooter has announced an add-on product for the game called Gunpowder, Treason and Plot, in a smart, five-day viral campaign which will culminate in a release of the add-on on Thursday.

Monetate reports that it increased revenue by 387% year-over-year, and has added to its client base Best Buy and Cooking.com, among a handful of others. That growth also demanded 50 new employees, a press release says.
NewsBerry, local software firm WildBit‘s email newsletter service, is closing down on January 2, according to an email newsletter. The company says its planning to focus on its Beanstalk and Postmark products.
