AccelerateBaltimore grad NewsUp is settling into its new office inside the new Highlandtown location of the Emerging Technology Center.
The startup creates trivia games with questions and answers based on popular news stories, as Technical.ly Baltimore has reported.
While a version of the NewsUp game has launched, cofounder Andrew Schuster said the startup is “working on the next version of the game, while preparing for an education pilot program early next year.”
That education focus might have something to do with its future revenue plans, as trivia games alone don’t pay the bills. NewsUp is bootstrapped with the cofounders’ own cash — with the exception of the $25,000 it received as part of the inaugural AccelerateBaltimore class in 2012 — and now employs three people full-time.
