Brooklyn Aerodrome: using gliders to start STEM education

Brooklyn Aerodrome was exhibiting at the New York Maker Faire this past weekend, allowing visitors to build gliders and holding contests for longest flights and best weight carrying capacity.

On their blog, Breck Baldwin announced that he’s developing a three part curriculum for middle school students (age 10-14), where they will build a glider, learn about basic remote control and then get introduced to remote controlled, powered airplanes.
