If you like white space this is the week for you. Not only are two of our highlighted events design-related, but our barren calendar features plenty of white pixels. As we near the end of Summer 2010, it looks like the event planning world is taking a break before we’re in Fall. However, just because our calendar is bare, it doesn’t mean there aren’t quality events to attend. On Tuesday attend the first ever Force.com meetup in the city. Or, if your more of a front end person, read books with the UX book club instead and then swing on by the graphic designers meetup. Tuesday, August 24: Force.com is one of the most popular platforms for cloud development, so we’re proud that Philly finally has a monthly meetup dedicated to the service. For its opening act, the Force.com meetup with showcase the work of Hoopla Software, a local development firm that focuses on the Salesforce platform. Oh, and your first beer is free. 6:30 p.m. Center City. [INFO] Tuesday, August, 24: If you’re not so into pushing code, than spend your Tuesday chatting design at the Philly Graphic Designers Meetup. On the agenda is a discussion about color and color swatches. We don’t know many more details here, but one thing we do know: all signage at the event will look impecable. 6:00 p.m. Center City. [INFO] Wednesday, August 25: Round out the last full week in August early by chatting about Thoughts on Interaction Design by Jon Kolko with the UX book club. If you didn’t read the book that’s cool, just fake it like Chris Wink did all throughout his time at Temple. Though, the book club plans on having Kolko Skype in to chat, so maybe honesty is the best policy here. 6:00 p.m. Center City. [INFO]
