Among job categories, quarterly wage growth in Q3 was the highest for IT jobs (up 2.1 percent). Seattle, San Francisco and Boston, three metros known for their strong tech presence, experienced annual wage growth of more than 3 percent. In fact, San Francisco had its strongest quarterly wage growth since first being measured by The PayScale Index in 2006 (3.6 percent). [more]
According to The Atlantic, the “enormous surge of usage of services like Gmail, Dropbox, Facebook, and Twitter has increased the need for developers, designers, and other software workers.”
However, in the Baltimore metro area, the year-over-year change in Q3 for tech-related jobs was 1.6 percent, compared to 4.5 percent year-over-year in Q3 on a national scale.
