After more than two years, Cloudmine is ready for a space of its own. That, and a West Coast office.
The mobile app backend moved to Center City’s Walnut Street Philadelphia Building earlier this month because it had outgrown Callowhill incubator Venturef0rth, where it had been headquartered since the summer of 2012 after stints at DreamIt Ventures and the Project Liberty Digital Incubator. That startup now employs 13, CEO Brendan McCorkle said.
At the Philadelphia Building, Cloudmine joins tech companies RJMetrics, Zivtech and Eight Eleven, as well as coworking space CultureWorks.
Cloudmine also opened an office in San Francisco to be close to many of its customers and partners on the West Coast, McCorkle said. It has one employee in its West Coast office.
There’s something to this wave of the city’s tech startups maturing out of incubators and coworking spaces into their own offices but still clustering in places like The Philadelphia Building and its Center City neighbor across Broad Street, 2401 Walnut Street, which houses Curalate, TicketLeap and now LifeVest Health. Of course, there’s also N3rd Street.
