Entrepreneurs and teachers will come together in downtown Baltimore on Feb. 22 for the first EdSurge Tech for Schools Summit of 2014. It marks the first time this city has hosted the edtech conference, said Digital Harbor Foundation executive director Andrew Coy in an e-mail.
The conference, which is free for teachers to attend, will feature 30 edtech companies displaying their classroom apps and curriculum tools. (Alchemy, which Technical.ly Baltimore has covered, is one of the startups and will be offering a demo of its “digital binder.”) Baltimore City Public Schools is a co-sponsor of the full-day conference taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Harbor East.
According to EdSurge, a website and organization that covers the latest trends in education technology, the Tech for Schools Summit is billed as a chance for teachers to try out edtech products they might incorporate into their classrooms.
