People building, coding and inventing technology are the backbone of local ecosystems. It’s about time we recognize some of the folks at the forefront of that work.

The DC region is home to giant companies, scrappy startups and government agencies — all employing technologists keeping crucial systems running. Technical.ly’s RealLIST Innovators (formerly called RealLIST Engineers) recognizes leaders in the local scene who build dynamic tech while making a difference in the region beyond that work. That can mean hosting a meetup, mentoring students or building civic technology.

This annual list, which we’ve published in the DMV since 2019, is put together with the help of reader nominations, our own research and past reporting. Want to nominate someone for next year’s roster? You can submit names all year round

Keep scrolling to meet the 15 latest RealLIST Innovators in the DMV.
