Hero Digital, the California-based B2C and B2B customer experience company, is acquiring Austin-based Bulldog Solutions, it announced Monday.
Hero has about 100 employees at its Manayunk office, as well as locations in Seattle, New York and Dallas. It also acquired a 50-person San Francisco consumer financial and B2B firm last year.
The firm first entered the Philly scene in 2017 after acquiring Manayunk’s customer experience firm Delphic Digital. In May of 2018, it also acquired Center City’s MaassMedia, a 15-person boutique analytics doing data work for ESPN, Lenovo and the Flyers.
Now, CEO David Kilimnik said, the team is excited to have a base near Austin’s Fortune 500 brands like Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Google and Adobe.
“B2B companies need to adapt, there’s a lot of work to do to create these more consumerized experiences,” Kilimnik said. “Bulldog’s pillars are around courage and curiosity, doing that unconventional B2B work. We think that’s what the industry needs.”
Bulldog’s clients include Oracle, Comcast Business, Zebra Technologies, TD Ameritrade, Symantec and Heartland Payment Systems, Hero said in a statement.

Bulldog’s CEO Randy Watson will join Hero as general manager of the Austin office, and founder Rob Solomon will becoming SVP of strategy at Hero. Bulldog’s executive team will remain the same.
“I am immensely proud of the talented, creative team of people we’ve built over the years,” Solomon said. “We’ve done transformational work, focused on client success, and built a reputation as an unconventional B2B agency.”
Kilimnik also touted the growth happening for the company in the Philadelphia region. Since the end of last year, the company’s Manayunk office has grown to about 100 people and currently has several open positions.
“The Philly growth rate is rapid,” he said. “Our strategy is about being really close to our companies, our clients. Part of the magic of Hero is to create that intimacy.”
