What power do our genes hold over us? How does our genetic makeup interact with the environment around us? And what role might gene editing play in the future of our species?
They’re all super hot questions right now and for those interested, Genspace is holding a lecture next month on the topic of genomics, “intended to introduce audiences to contemporary issues in genomic research,” the science org says.
Speaking will be Christine Marizzi, the manager of the Urban Barcode Project and an educator at the DNA Learning Center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
The talk is $10 and will be held at Genspace’s Downtown Brooklyn office/lab.
RegisterIf this is up your alley, WHYY’s Fresh Air recently had Siddhartha Mukherjee on the show for a long interview and it was fantastic. Mukherjee, an oncologist and writer, is the author of The Gene: An Intimate History.
