It’s called “How Computer Programs Can Help Us Design Better Cancer Drugs.” Let’s talk about that for a second.
“What if we could shift the bulk of cancer drug research from chemists and cells to the computer?” the event invite reads. “With the development of new drugs costing upwards of 1 billion dollars, Dr. Sonya Hanson from The John Chodera Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering is tackling this issue by building computer programs to reduce the time and money it takes to get these drugs to market.”
Dr. Hanson will be speaking Thursday, March 17 at Genspace, the winner took home Makerspace of the Year honors at this year’s Brooklyn Innovation Awards.
The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. at Genspace, located at 33 Flatbush Ave. in Downtown Brooklyn. Tickets are free.
