Two new employees start work today at SmartLogic Solutions, the Canton-based web and mobile development shop that loves donating pizza to Baltimore’s tech events. Another new hire began work on March 18.
The three new hires, including former OrderUp project manager Brian Sierakowski, bring SmartLogic’s full-time team to 11. With an expanded team, SmartLogic will “look to ramp up marketing efforts as we look to bring more clients onboard,” said owner Yair Flicker by e-mail.
Among those clients SmartLogic currently does development work for are startups Woofound and DinnerTime.
Flicker, who recently argued that more companies should hire Baltimore-based firms for app development, said that SmartLogic’s “clients stick around with us for awhile,” probably a deciding factor in his firm’s revenue figures for Q1 of this year: they’re up 34 percent compared to Q1 in 2012, taking into account work for which SmartLogic has so far invoiced for this year.
“Under the leadership of Dan Ivovich—our director of development operations—we’ve really streamlined many of our development processes over the past six months,” said Flicker. “Now we want to scale out to more clients.”
For those heading to RailsConf at April’s end, keep your eyes open for Flicker and the rest of the SmartLogic team.
