ENSYN Corp. — a Wilmington-based company producing renewable liquid fuels and chemicals — recently raised $12.75 million, according to an SEC filing. The last time to company reported receiving funding was in 2011. Then, the company raised $1.5 million.
WHO’S GETTING BUZZ
Ellen Kullman, DuPont’s CEO and board chair — was recently named Drexel University’s College of Engineering “Engineer Leader of the Year.” A native of Wilmington, Kullman has been on DuPont’s leadership team since 2009. She’ll be recognized at a ceremony on Feb. 23, according to an article published on NewsWise.
A University of Delaware associate professor of materials science and engineering was recently named the winner of the 2014 Peter Mark Memorial Award from AVS.
According to UDaily, Joshua Zide was honored by the interdisciplinary society for materials, interface and processing technology. The award goes to a researcher under 35 who has contributed to AVS publications.
The University of Delaware is implementing “contactless” ID cards as a pilot program in one department on campus, says CampusTechnology.com. The new cards include a chip that allows users to wave them near a device instead of sliding them through a slot. These will replace current ID cards and will also include a magnetic strip to allow access to buildings that have not yet upgraded hardware.
