Applications to be a part of the second class of media-oriented startups at the Project Liberty Digital Incubator are now open, according to the press release from the Ben Franklin Technology Partners.
The second Project Liberty class will reside in the Philadelphia Media Network’s new headquarters at 801 Market Street, according to BFTP. Maybe the move will help with the culture shift that is taking place between newspaper reporters and tech startups.
The incubator, which is the result of a partnership between the BFTP, the PMN, the Knight Foundation, Drexel University and DreamItVentures, currently houses three startups which all graduated from the Dreamit Fall 2011 Philadelphia class — CloudMine, SnipSnap and ElectNext. The three startups that make up the first Project Liberty class all work out of PMN’s current offices at 400 North Broad Street.
