Project Liberty

The Project Liberty Digital Incubator was an initiative of Interstate General Media, the parent company of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News. The incubator was started with Knight Foundation funding to the state-backed Ben Franklin Technology Partners, in partnership with DreamIt Ventures. The effort struggled to offer support to its first class of startups but received additional funding to grow. The initiative was first conceived in 2010, with the first application process beginning in October 2011.
