Power Moves: Mindgrub has a new digital marketing team, Abell VP departs to form social impact fund

Plus, hiring in cyber and biotech. Here's a roundup of recent hires in the first month of 2018.

Mindgrub is making more moves into digital marketing, adding six new team members as it expands offerings to include campaign launch plans, consultation and behavior tracking. The team is led by VP of Digital Marketing Doug Broujos. Also coming aboard in Locust Point were: Jennifer Russo as Events Director, Laura Scruggs as Marketing Manager, Claire Hanley as Digital Marketing Lead, Loryn Chen as UX Associate and Hannah Baldwin as Administrative Assistant.

ZeroFOX made a pair of upper-level hires. The South Baltimore–based social media cybersecurity company has a new head of U.S. sales, as Todd Laughman joined this month. He formerly worked in an executive sales role at Massachusetts-based firm Bitsight. The company also added a general counsel, as Brian Cyr joined from DataDog. Among his tasks are heading up efforts to protect technology and navigating new global security regulations.

There’s a change in the VP ranks at the Abell Foundation. Lynn Heller left the role of vice president on Jan. 19 after four years overseeing operations and heading up environmental grantmaking. She plans to start a new social impact fund focused on bringing clean energy jobs to low-income communities.
In turn, Sheryl Goldstein was hired for the role of vice president. She is currently Managing Director of Programs and Grants at the The Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Foundation, where she led the Summer Funding Collaborative and early-stage childhood education strategy. She also previously worked in the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. She plans to start on February 20 at Abell.

Just after announcing plans to expand with a new pharmaceutical manufacturing operation that could create 200 jons, Paragon Bioservices announced some new positions being filled in the present. The C-level ranks now include Philip Wills as Chief Commercial Officer, John Conner as Chief Manufacturing Officer and William “Bill” Thomas, Jr., as Chief Scientific Officer. Additionally, the company hired Randy Henrickson as VP of Manufacturing and Dermot McCaul as VP of Information Technology.
